ASUS X550JX CLOUD STORE, SHARE, AND SYNC

ASUS X550JX DRIVER WINDOWS 7

With ASUS WebStorage, convenience is the main priority, offering you easy storage, sharing, and syncing of everything from business presentations to photo albums and favorite multimedia content. Each ASUS Zenbook comes with 32GB of WebStorage space free for the three years, and offers you the MyBitCast app so you can easily sync your content to multiple devices and accounts simultaneously

ASUS X550JX PERFORMANCE

Style and performance converge at the ASUS X550JX-DB71 notebook. It comes with spun-circle finish that lends a touch of sophistication and elegance, while the powerful components inside the case like quad-core Intel Core processor, 8GB memory, GTX 950M graphics card provide the performance and capability you need for multitasking and serious gaming on its 15.6" Full HD display.

It also features Instant on that resumes your computer from sleep mode in 2 seconds and USB 3.0 for 10 times faster data transfer speed. The SonicMaster technology produces precise, crystal clear sound to complete your cinematic experience. Large touchpad, chicklet keyboard with numeric keypad and HDMI are all part of the package, along with 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for easy pairing with your portable devices.

Chassis and body

The Entire body is made of Good quality Plastic,The lid cover is Glossy and very susceptible to Finger prints and smudges, the inner body however is matte, and does a better job at covering up finger prints. the Color Black rules supreme when it comes to the general look, with stylish red stripes running Down the Sides of both the lid and the Keyboard Area, overall, A very beautiful machine.

Screen

The Screen isn't Something You'd go around talking about, the colors are nice, the brightness Is good but the Viewing angles are just bad.It is also impossible to Achieve the color Black, not matter What you do.When Viewing from Head-on, the bottom Half is Kinda Gray and the top half Is too Dark and weird.

Throttling and Heat

These's no throttling on AC ( as you'd imagine),on battery though The results are unpredictable, i managed to run Dishonored flawlessly on Battery with the same FPS as on AC,but Tomb Raider Proved to be a different story,it ran Just like AC for the most part, but there were instances where the GPU Clock went down to 200, causing massive FPS loss, they lasted for about 5 seconds then it was fine again, with ~1 minute intervals between each throttle, either way,it does a surprisingly good job when it comes to running games on battery, with Normal games being perfectly playable, but very demanding Games are left wanting.

As for the heat neither the GPU nor the CPU heat up to a degree that it becomes risky, the highest GPU temp I've recorded is 71 during furmark. The CPU Reached 85 while Running Furmark's CPU burner test with 8 threads.

The body it self Doesn't Heat up at all, except for the area to the left of Tab and Esc,which becomes moderately warm, the keyboard area however stays cool no matter what.

Battery

As I said it comes with a 4 cell 44 Wh battery, and those number mean You shouldn't count on getting more than 5 hours of daily use, like WiFi Surfing and such.Getting more than an hour of gaming is also out of the question.

Performance

So we finally get to the important part, performance. Daily use is GOOD,but it's only GOOD because of the 5400 HDD,it takes ~14 seconds to boot.and programs Start/load rather fast, but I, for the life of me can't figure out Why whenever i Right click,it takes a second or two to load the right click Menu.

Sound

The Audio is very pleasant, and offers good depth, Bass is kinda lacking however but. nothing a little equalizer cant fix. Something that Asus had already thought of when they put ICEpowers Audio wizard in the Driver DVD,it has Presets that include Game mode,Music,Movie and Speech, all of which are actually good.

ASUS ZENBOOK UX302L REVIEWS AND DRIVERS WINDOWS 7, Mountain View, CA, USA

Asus Ultrabook UX302LA is on indisputable part of the heritage of Asus laptops but changes everything in the glass. First thought may be the same as ours which is crazy. Asus Zenbook Ultrabook UX302 is a design, which features the “first”. This is the first Ultrabook that uses Gorilla Glass 3 to cover the cover instead of the usual aluminum or plastic. This is not the first laptop on top of the cup.

This is a good choice in a style that does not change the way we think about Ultrabook such, but this is another thing. It provides superior performance at this price, and a 500 GB hard drive offers greater capacity than most Ultrabooks. UX302 has a 1080p IPS screen, 13.3 inches. Although quite impressive by the standards of 12-18 months ago, this is a fairly basic specification compared to the new touch screen with 2.014.

Shaking the shift by itself is an often flush TECH. And considering how often some of these things are updated, it’s no wonder. Very stylish Asus Zenbook UX302L is one of the most attractive ultra-portable notebooks. It is light, thin and surprising, equipped with a powerful processor, touch-screen and a good amount of space to boot.

Its maximum contrast and brightness readings are decent, but not stellar. It offers a contrast of 664: 1 and maximum brightness of 283 rivets. This is what defines the Zenbook UX302LA for the average user, there is an aggressive adaptive wild brightness setting – which is included as standard. An ambient light sensor is used on the surrounding screen to set the level of the backlight based on the brightness of the room. These are solid numbers, but at this point, they are not unusual. The best laptops at this price close to the contrast ratio of 1000: 1 and over 300 pots. The color accuracy is very good, which makes it a good choice for some video and image editing.

ASUS ZENBOOK UX302L PERFORMANCE

  • 13.3 Inch Full HD touch screen for hands-on control. 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • Intel Core i5-4200U processor 4GB DDR3 memory 13.3-inch high-definition touch-screen display
  • Intel HD Graphics 4400 3 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports
  • Voice recognition technology
  • 500GB hard drive (5400 rpm) Built-in high-definition array webcam
The CPU also supplies the graphics, which has been upgraded yet again for this Intel processor range. There is a UX301 version of this notebook that sports the Core i7-4558U with the potent Iris 5100 integrated graphics, and a version of the UX302L called the UX302LG with Nvidia discrete graphics on board. But our sample's CPU came with HD 4400 instead, which is only a mild improvement over the HD 4000 in Ivy Bridge processors. It sports 20 cores rather than 16, running at 1,100MHz rather than the top 1,350MHz of HD 4000 – but it should still provide faster 3D acceleration.

The UX302L screen has good viewing angles, and only a small amount of backlight bleed around the edges. The glossy surface does mar visibility with reflections in some conditions, but overall this is a premium screen compared to most Ultrabooks.

The UX302L lasted 156 minutes in our intensive rundown test, which stresses the processor and graphics at 100 per cent. This is about 20 per cent more than the earlier model, and implies that the UX302L should last more than five hours of everyday usage, which is adequate if not stunning. We would have preferred a couple more hours, but this will be enough for a lengthy journey or most of a working day.

Asus Zenbook UX302 – Screen & Sound Quality

The UX302 has a 1080p IPS screen, 13.3 inches across. Although pretty impressive by the standards of 12-18 months ago, it’s a fairly baseline spec compared to its new 2014 touchscreen peers. Its contrast and maximum brightness readings are decent, but not stellar. It offers contrast of 664:1 and a peak brightness of 283 nits. They’re solid numbers, but not remarkable at this point. The best laptops at this price near a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and over 300 nits.

Colour accuracy is very good, though, making it a good option for some video and image editing.

What comes to define the Zenbook UX302 for the average user, though, is the wildly aggressive adaptive brightness setting – which is enabled as standard. This uses the ambient light sensor in the screen surround to set the backlight level based on how bright it is in the room.

ASUS ZENBOOK UX302L Quality

Config options available for the UX302. The specific version we looked at is the Zenbook UX302LA, which has an Intel Core i7-4500U CPU (1.8GHz or 3.0GHz with Turbo Boost), 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive and 16GB of Flash memory to enable quick booting from sleep.

It comes with the sort of day-to-day performance we’ve come to expect from a SSD-equipped Ultrabook. Awaking from sleep takes between 2-5 seconds and booting from cold takes 15 seconds. It’s a fairly snappy laptop.

A Core i7 power is plenty to work with for most needs too, even if it is a low-power version of the processor designed to keep a portable laptop running for a good few hours off its battery. In Geekbench 3 it scores 5772 points. That’s ahead of the Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus, which costs a few hundred pounds more but only packs a Core i5 Haswell processor, not an i7. Part of the reason why the Asus is able to be so competitive in this area is because of its use of a 5400rpm 500GB hard drive rather than a a 256GB SSD like the Samsung Book 9 Plus, which means Asus has saved money on the storage and has diverted it to a faster CPU.

What you get for £1,000 in terms of pure performance isn’t bad at all, given how style obsessed the laptop appears to be.

There are some variants of the UX302 that come with dedicated NVIDIA graphics chips, but our review version makes do with the integrated Intel HD 4400 graphics. This is not a gaming PC.

The Haswell-generation chipset used here makes some improvements in terms of what integrated graphics chipsets are capable of, but you’re looking at playing fairly low-end games only. Or higher-end ones with the graphical whizz-bang elements turned off and the resolution turned down.

In the 3DMark bench, the scores read out as 33,457 in the low-intensity Ice Storm test, 4,287 in the mid-level Cloud Gate. Abstratced they don’t mean a great deal, but these are exactly the scores we’d expect of a laptop with a good CPU but limited graphics power, which means only basic and older games need apply.

Asus Zenbook UX302 – Heat and Noise

relatively low in order to keep noise down. Hot/warm air is then blown out of the upper part of the laptop hinge, up the screen and vaguely in the direction of whoever is using the laptop. The fans don’t pump out air with enough force to make them actually blow in your face, though.

After playing some fairly graphically intensive games for 30 minutes, the Asus Zenbook UX302 underside hit 42 degrees centigrade. It’s warm, certainly, but we didn’t experience any uncomfortable warmth from the laptop during testing. The heat does extend to the top of the laptop too, mostly where you’d rest your right hand on the keyboard surround – the left part stays fairly cool.

ASUS ZENBOOK UX302LA REVIEWS AND DRIVERS WINDOWS 7, Kansas City, MO, USA
